Cathay Pacific Passengers Bound For Vancouver Feared Fighter Escort of Airliner

Cathay Pacific flight from Hongkong to Vancouver was escorted by fighter jets due to a security threat. Passengers were scared due to this incident.

The flight, which originated from Hong Kong, had been screened and no explosives were found. The bomb threat had been received by telephone.

All passengers are unharmed and were safely taken off the plane, while police investigated the alert. Cathay Pacific in a satatement said that the plane has been cleared by Canadian authorities to return to Hong Kong.

Airport security in Vancouver meant extra security for the aircraft both inbound and outbound of the airport.
