Makenzie Melton is the winner of the “Doodle 4 Google” contest, a third grade student from El Dorado Springs, Missouri’s R-2 Schools.

The theme for the doodles submitted was “If I Could Do Anything, I Would…” and for this year’s winner, Makenzie selected the rainforest habitat as her theme for the doodle.

“I chose this doodle because the rainforest is in danger and it is not fair to the plants and animals. I love everything except spiders and snakes, but I would still save them.”

Being the first placer, Makenzie received  15000 USD. However those other doodle submissions will not be put into waste since it will be on an exhibit at google’s New York Office.Last year’s winner was Christin Engelberth, a sixth grader at Bernard Harris Middle School in San Antonio, Texas. The title of her doodle “A New Beginning,” to express her wish that “out of the current crisis, discoveries will be found to help the Earth prosper once more.”
