Because of the Scotty Lago photo contoversey, bronze medalist Scott Lago immediatley took a flight back to America.</p>

<p>Despite the death of the 21 year old Nodar Kumaritashvili of the Georgian luger men’s division at the 2010 Winter Olympics, the opening of the Olympic Schedule Vancouver 2010 was a succes. The 21 year old Nodar Kumaritashvili died in a horrific crash during a practice session. The accident came few moments before the start of the opening ceremony. Nodar was immediately attended by paramedics at the scene but the injuries were too much. He was lifted off by a helicopter to a Whistler hospital where he was pronounced dead few moments later.</p>
