A lot of people rushed through the ropes of the ring while Yuri Foreman was was limping around and was asking the referee of the match, Arthur Mercante Jr. to allow him to continue the bout. Yuri Foreman’s twisted knee limited him from doing much in the fight but his heart just wouldn’t give up.While Miguel Cotto was watching the white towel flew into the air and thought that it was a sign for surrender and made him won the first ever main event in Yankee Stadium for more than three decades.

But Foreman refused to give up when Mercante angrily tossed the white towel right back out and asked him if he wanted to continue, and Foreman said yes. “I felt like I did the right thing.” Mercante said.

Miguel Cotto stopped Yuri Foreman in the ninth round of their match on Saturday and won the junior middleweight title. This win by Miguel Cotto made a lot of his fans very happy.

Accoding to Yuri Foreman, while making side-to-side movement, his knee gave out and it cause him a lot of pain that eventually led him to do limited moves.

Migeul Cotto on the other hand said “I proved this night, everybody who said Miguel Cotto was finished, everybody failed.”

Miguel Cotto now has a record of 35-2, 28 KOs.

Amir Khan is an Olympic Silver Medalist, with excellent fighting skills, he has both speed and power. Amir Khan is one of the most exciting boxers on the planet, Even though he has all this he still has a weakness, his chin. Paulie Malignaggi who for all his quality and heart, is infamous for his lack of punching power. Khan has a 8cm height advantage and 5cm reach advantage. Amir Khan is very much a work in progress but he should have enough to put Malignaggi away within the distance. And that’s just what happened in today’s bout Paulie Malignaggi was beaten by Amir Khan in Round 11.

Amir Khan showed his speed throughout the whole fight, he is able to stay busy and dictate the tempo, Paulie Malignaggi showed a lot of heart in the game but still that wasn’t enough. In the post-fight presser, Khan talked about the possibility of facing the mandatory challenger Marcos Maidana and ultimately Tim Bradley to unify the titles.

This Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York Amir Khan and Paulie Malignaggi, headline an HBO twinbill. The Fight will be featuring the top light welterweights, Khan vs Malignaggi that will be accompanied by Victor Ortiz vs. Nate Campbell. The HBO doubleheader begins at 9:45pm. Lets get to know the players for this coming bout.

Amir Khan vs Paulie Malignaggi Bout this Saturday!

Amir Khan At 23 years of age, has the standing of 22wins-1loss 16 KOs, Amir Khan is hoping to make the best of his United States debut. Khan, is a native of the United Kingdom, He captured a Silver Medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. This will be the first fight away from Khan’s home turf as he tries to establish himself atop the crowded 140-pound division., Khan is quickly becoming a complete fighter. He has speed, power, and a natural boxing gift. He also added trainer extraordinaire Freddie Roach to his team in 2008. Amir Khan is a young, out-spoken, cocky up-and-comer

Paulie Malignaggi, 27wins-3loss 5 KOs. Malignaggi is not a power puncher. His last stoppage victory was in 2003. But what Paulie lacks in power, he makes up for in quickness. Malignaggi was on the verge of becoming a light welterweight afterthought when he was robbed of a decision over Juan Diaz in August of 2009. the bout was fought in Diaz’ hometown of Houston. Malignaggi was granted a rematch and got his career back on track with a win later that year Malignaggi five years ago has also the same traits as Amir Khan. Now more battle-weary, Malignaggi is relishing the opportunity to shut the new kid up. A war of words has already been waged between the two, a fight that Malignaggi would win hands down. But Malignaggi needs to be focused and precise inside the ring this Saturday to have any shot at spoiling King Khan’s debut in New York

Manny Pacquiao has run for the Philippines Election 2010 Congressional Seat in Saranggani Province Philippines. This is the second time Manny Pacquiao has run for a political position in the Philippines Election in his birthplace. This time around Manny has gained the Philippines Election 2010 Congressional Seat in Saranggani Province in Mindanao.
