Playstation 3 owners just got greeted today with a Firmware update, the PS3 FW Update v3.21. The update will remove the ability to install another operating system on Sony’s Playstation 3. This update is because Sony is fearing that being able to install another OS to the box would make it easier for pirates and hackers to meddle with the system.

The update is confirmed to not be an April Fool’s prank because many thought it was. It just so happens that it was released on April 1st.

We still don’t know of the implications the PS3 v3.21 Firmware update will be to everyone but we will be updating you guys if anything comes up.
