NCAA Wrestling Championships 2010 Results – Penn State Dominating

OMAHA, Neb. — Head coach Cael Sanderson’s Nittany Lion of Penn State got through with a 5-1 mark during session one on the 2010 NCAA Wrestling Championships. Four wrestler’s won, all of whom are seeded. Penn State also shocked the crowd when they picked up an upset win over Oklahoma in the first round at 125.

2010 NCAA Wrestling Championships Results

Winning wrestlers were Junior Brad Pataky upset over No.9 seed Jarrod Patterson of Oklahoma at 125. Second-year All-American Frank Molinaro won 9-4 over Binghamton’s Donald Vinson at 149 and 2008 All-American Cyler Sanderson won over Northern Illinois’ Bryan Deutsch at 157, senior Dan Vallimont also won over Virginia Tech’s Matt Epperly at 165 and senior David Erwin beat Oklahoma’s Erich Schmidtke.

First round consolations and the second round of the tournament will resume later today with the evening session starting at 6:30 PM Central or 7:30PM ET. Stay tuned for the NCAA Wrestling Championships 2010 Second Round Results.
