In the race people can still expect the “Carbo Dining In” It is a informal pasta dinner which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Capital Hill in Washington DC. The event is the evening before the Marine Corps Marathon.

Here are some of the rules,  Every runner must be 14 years of age or older on October 31st, 2010. Every runner must at least maintain a 14-minute per mile pace to Beat the Bridge. All runners must reach the 14th Street Bridge (Just before mile marker 20) by 1:15 pm. At that time, the street will reopen to vehicular traffic. If a runner does not reach the 14th Street Bridge on time, he or she will have the option to board a straggler’s bus which will take the runners to the finish festival. It is strongly advised to board the straggler bus but if a runner decides to continue he or she must stay on the sidewalks and they are responsible of their own safety. Eventhough this is a marathon people can still walk but you must maintain a 14-minute mile pace to “Beat the Bridge” (14th Street Bridge) by 1:15pm.

The 2010 course will be similar to 2009 but for any additional changes or updates to the race course please download the course map on our website www.marinemarathon.com in September. More News and Information about the Marine Corps Marathon 35th 2010 Registration Now Open
